World Cup 2018 Qualifiers: Nigeria 3-1 Algeria – Gernot Rohr
The Super Eagles of Nigeria today defeated their opponent El Khadra of Algeria, 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifier CAF Final Group Stage.

The match which took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo by 11:00AM has qualified Nigeria’s Super Eagles for the FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Nigeria national team has put smiles in the faces of many Nigerians by this glorious victory.

The first goal entered the score board in the first half as Victor Moses scored the opening goal with a solo which he gave to Algerain’s goalkeeper, Rais M’Bolhi from the left side of the pitch.

John Mikel Obi, the captain of the team made it 2-nil after some minutes also scoring from the left side.

When the ball was passed to Mikel he taught he was in the offside position but he later moved with the ball when he noticed he wasn’t in the offside position.

Nigeria held their opponent team 2-0 in the first half of the game. It was a tight game for the two teams.

However, in the second half, Algeria’s Nabil Bantaleb changed the statistics of the match by scoring a wonder goal with a pass from his teammate, Riyad Mahrez.

Victor Moses never rested in the second half. He gave another scoring in the game making the score board 3-1. This is Moses’ second goal in the Cup qualifier.

The match ended Nigeria 3-1 Algeria, placing the Super Eagles at the top of the group.

With this match result, Nigerians are proud of the Super Eagles. This was seen in the happiness and shout from the Nigeria Supporters’ Club (NSC).

The National team coach, Gernot Rohr has lead Nigeria’s national team to FIFA World Cup 2018 in his first attempt.

It can be recalled that the German, Rohr was installed as the Super Eagle’s  coach earlier this year by NFF by Chief Amaju Pinnick. He also expressed his joy with his boys over their victory.

Nigeria now lead her World Cup qualifier group with 6 points, followed by Cameroon, 2 points, Algeria; 1 point, while Zambia are the last with 1 point.

Governor Udum Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom sat by the team’s coach during the match. He was excited by the performance of the Super Eagles today.
